You will need to read two articles for Friday's class -- "The History of This I Believe" (pages 260-268) and "Introduction to the 1950's This I Believe" (pages 269-271). Both will give us a background so that you can start essay #1!
After we talk about these two essays, you will get your first assignment; I did just post it electronically at the bottom of this page. At the moment, it's not showing up but if you check back later, I hope it is there! (look for the document that says "Essay 1 ENG 101 Fall 2010." We will go over this, of course, in class on Friday! See you then!
So... Im thinking the bookstore sold me the wrong 'This I Believe' book! The one i have, the cover is yellow, and the full title is 'This I Believe II: The personal philosophies of remarkable men and women. Do i have the wrong book? if so ill ge way before class and see if i can get the right one... Oo and my pages numbers are all different from what is in our handouts.

Kelsey -- it should be the first one, not the second one ao it looks like they did sell you the wrong book! Check with those folks at the bookstore again! (and sorry it took me so long to notice your comment here!) :D
